Utility Locator - Atlanta, GA

eX² is seeking a Utility Locator to join our team and support underground facility construction activities with a focus on damage prevention and the protection of multiple utilities’ infrastructure. This position will require response to dig ticket requests from contractor crews to locate, identify and mark existing client infrastructure and meet compliance with Company, State and Federal processes, procedures, rules and regulations.

Education
High School Diploma or GED equivalent

Experience
Minimum three to five years utility locating experience required

Experience with the construction and installation of below grade infrastructure
Experience working within and utilizing existing utility standard designs

Experience with complex urban underground utility infrastructure
Experience serving as firm-client liaison
Experience reviewing design drawings created by others
Experience in the use and basic maintenance of industry standard locating equipment
Experience using basic communication and technical devices

Skills/Knowledge/Abilities
Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
Strong communication and interpersonal skills to support excellent working relations with citizens, company, contractor representatives and customers
Good organizational skills with the ability to handle many varied tasks at once
Knowledge and understanding of safe worksite practices
Proficiency in web-based email
Valid driver’s license

Must be capable of operating the following:

Communicates effectively in oral and written English technical language, both in interpreting requirements and providing reports and mentoring.

Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts and draw valid conclusions.
