The Energy Engineering Analyst is responsible for the research, analysis, and management of existing and new energy management initiatives to promote sustainability and long-term profitability while managing Race Trac’s impact on the environment. They will engage with and manage relationships with internal stakeholders and vendors to identify and enact effective, valuable, and impactful energy efficient initiatives. The Energy Engineering Analyst is also responsible for the effective management of the utility rebate program.

They will perform all energy modeling for measurement and verification requirements for program eligibility. The Energy Engineering Analyst will also be responsible for developing key rebate program relationships within the utility. Optimizing key industry knowledge on rebate programs, this role will identify, evaluate, and recommend equipment upgrades with higher efficiency specifications. They will have an opportunity to engage with peer‑led industry groups to benchmark on progress and promote energy management and sustainability efforts in the c‑store and retail industry.

What

You'll Do
  • Manages all rebate program activities, including identification, energy modeling, application processing, incentive validation, and tracking
  • Develops, manages, and maintains database of open utility rebate programs in Race Trac’s markets
  • Effectively manages the commissioning program and the key relationship with the third‑party vendor
  • Develops the business case for various energy and sustainability initiatives, including efficiency specification upgrades that are supported by current incentive availability
  • Tests, implements, and scales initiatives using project management methodology
  • Oversees daily operations of programs related to energy, such as building management systems to maximize program success
  • Identifies potential operational risks and provides mitigation solution options
  • Creates and delivers presentations to internal stakeholders regarding energy and sustainability initiatives
  • Assists in managing energy and sustainability‑related vendor and peer group relationships
What We’re Looking For
  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university; a focus on engineering or energy management
  • 1–3 years’ experience in energy management, energy efficiency, project management, and engineering
  • Understanding of HVAC, Refrigeration, Commercial Kitchen and Food & Beverage Equipment, Utilities, Building/Energy Management and building specifications
  • Familiarity with the overall field of sustainability including but not limited to various initiatives, technologies, and regulations
  • Proven success in driving consensus while evaluating multiple priorities with other stakeholders or business units
  • Proficiency with MS Office Suite required (Expert in MS Excel preferred)
