Overview
We are seeking a Senior Civil Land Development Engineer to join our team in Atlanta, GA
. Our civil engineers handle grading, site plans, roads, utility design and planning, stormwater, working on local, state, and federal projects of all scales, and may travel to federal projects throughout the US, Europe, and the Middle East. They collaborate with other civil engineering groups across the US and with disciplines at Atkins
Réalis including aviation, coastal, water resources, environmental and more.
- Designs and develops plans and drawings, which may include the development of preliminary layout and/or final drawings.
- Organizes and conducts engineering investigations and planning work with a well‑defined scope; outlines and prepares reports in a periodic review of a more experienced professional.
- Provides engineering services during construction activities by reviewing shop drawings for conformance with specifications; prepares records and progress reports; observes construction procedures under guidance and evaluates quality control testing results.
- Researches feasibility of alternative design approaches, site conditions, and regulatory agency specifications.
- Contributes to the development of plans, specifications, permit applications, and writes miscellaneous reports.
- Prepares preliminary man‑hour, cost, and material quantity estimates.
- Participates in quality control checks, maintaining quality standards, checking computations, and reviewing designs and drawings performed by others.
- Performs field observations of construction where appropriate.
- May occasionally assist in the management of projects.
- May perform other duties as the supervisor may deem necessary.
- B.S. or M.S. in Civil Engineering
- 10‑14 years’ experience in Land Development
- Technical writing, computer, and communications skills required
- AutoCAD skills required
- Experience using hydrology modeling software (Hydra Flow, XPSWMM, ICPR, etc.)
- PE required

Expected compensation range is between $89,000 - $140,000 annually depending on skills, experience, and geographical location.
