Pipe Stress Engineer

Kelly Engineering is seeking a Pipe Stress Engineer to join one of our leading clients in the Engineering Services industry supporting power generation facilities.

Ideal Candidate
  • Bachelor of Science in Engineering discipline
  • Experience running Pipe Stress Analysis using AutoPIPE Software
  • Understanding of ASME, API and ANSI Codes
  • Experience with analyzing high temperature and pressure piping systems in the Power Industry

Location: Just north of Atlanta, near Marietta/Kennesaw.

Responsibilities
  • Conduct pipe stress analysis of piping systems (both static and dynamic) using AutoPIPE Software
  • Conduct pipe stress analysis for piping systems involving steam turbines, pumps, heat exchangers, and tanks
  • Develop engineering computations and evaluations for critical piping systems for sustained, thermal, and occasional loads
  • Perform evaluation of local stresses on equipment nozzles per WRC

  • Evaluate and specify pipe supports for all critical piping
  • Provide pipe loading information to Civil/Structural for steel design
  • Extract engineering data from CAD drawings and computer models
  • Develop detailed requisitions for pipe stress equipment and materials
  • Prepare pipe stress reports
  • Perform detailed reviews and checks of stress analysis designs from other stress engineers
Requirements
  • Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering
  • Experience running Pipe Stress Analysis using AutoPIPE Software
  • Understanding of ASME, API and ANSI Codes
  • Experience with analyzing high temperature and pressure piping systems in the Power Industry
  • PE License preferred
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
