The Challenge:
Perform conceptual and detailed HV and MV Substation Physical/Electrical design for medium to large scale utilities/substations (including basic layout, electrical arrangement, one line, three line drawings, plan-section, grounding, AC and DC system drawings)Perform advanced engineering studies and calculationsPerform Quality Control reviews on medium to large substation physical design projectsCreate and review bill of materials for substation physical projectsDevelop and review proposals, and scopes of work for substation physical projectsDevelop and provide advanced technical presentations to the team to assist with staff technical developmentBe involved in client interaction (including site visits) with a drive for customer satisfactionProvide leadership and mentorship to junior engineersPossess excellent communication skills and the ability to interact with the internal teams and clients to meet project objectives_Are you ready to make an impact? What you will bring to the table:
Bachelor’s degree in Electrical, Mechanical, civil or related degree with eight (8+) plus years of Substation physical design experience.Leadership experience in executing substation projectsExcellent communication skills and ability to interact with the internal team and clients to meet project needs.Ability to lead bids and proposal effort for utility clientsAbility to perform quality control checks on substation design projects.Act as a supervisor for one to six direct reportsAbility to read and design substation physical drawings such as one line drawings, three line drawings, plan-section drawings, foundation, grounding drawings.Ability to read and design substation protection and control drawings such as one-line drawings, three line drawings, AC/DC schematic drawings and wiring designAbility to create and check bill of materials for substation physicalAct as a key contributor to the develop substation physical application documents to define design scope, philosophies, methodologies, and criteria for medium and high-voltage substation projects.Experience with grounding studies/lightning protection and lighting studies.Ability to attend site visit at customer locationIt would be nice if you had:
Registered Professional Engineer (P.E.) LicenseMaster’s degree in related fieldExperience with QA/QCWorking knowledge of protection and control designExperience with BUS calculations.Experience with WinIGS or CDEGSExperience with SDS AutoCAD Electrical software.In this role, you can expect to grow:
