OverviewJE Dunn’s Advanced Facilities Group (AFG) combines Mission Critical, Advanced Industries, and Industrial & Manufacturing into one high‑performing team focused on cutting‑edge work to serve innovative clients on large Industrial & Manufacturing, Data Center, and Semiconductor projects. As part of the Advanced Facilities team, the Senior M/E Engineer will work on some of the most advanced construction projects across the country, growing your career alongside our diverse team of industry professionals.
Key Responsibilities- Learns and actively participates in all aspects of the company’s safety and quality plans and culture by demonstrating commitment to an injury‑free environment.
- Completes entry level and routine mechanical, electrical and field construction activities.
- Develops budgetary M/E estimates based on program and schematic design information using automated M/E estimating system.
- Assists in the review of mechanical and electrical options as part of the preconstruction process and completes systems analysis for select projects.
- Provides input during the subcontractor selection process and assists in developing sequencing requirements of various systems to meet schedule requirements.
- Performs job inspections to ensure specifications and expectations are met and work is completed in a quality and timely manner.
- Assists with the commissioning process including developing pre‑functional checklists, functional testing procedures and actual functional testing.
- Creates M/E tools and innovative solutions to continuously improve processes and work products.
- Negotiates subcontracts with subcontractors and purchases equipment for assigned projects.
- Builds relationships by being the direct face with the client and participates in interviews for winning work, presentations and business development efforts.
- Leads, supports and promotes a culture of diversity and inclusion within JE Dunn.
- Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering, electrical engineering, architectural engineering or related field (Required).
- 10+ years construction management experience (Preferred).
- Valid and unrestricted driver’s license required.
- Proficiency in MS Office, BIM, scheduling software and construction technology (Advanced).
- Strong communication, presentation and team‑management skills (Advanced).
