Job
Provide basic electrical engineering services in support of either the operation and maintenance of the campus electrical distribution system or the design, construction and operation of electrical equipment, components or systems associated with research efforts within an academic or research unit. This position will interact on a consistent basis with facilities management and utilities personnel or research management and faculty; co-workers, vendors, suppliers and contractors.
This position typically will advise and counsel: management personnel.

Perform basic design and installation of electrical/electronic components - Job Duty 2:
Review and provide input to engineering plans and specifications for electrical systems - Job Duty 3:
Perform basic troubleshooting associated with electrical systems; may involve calibration and repair work - Job Duty 4:
Prepare drawings, schematic diagrams and related documentation associated with electrical components and systems - Job Duty 5:
Monitor expenses incurred; prepare related reports - Job Duty 6:
Interact with vendors regarding procurement and delivery issues - Job Duty 7:
Perform other duties as assigned
Educational Requirements
Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent combination of education and experience
Required Experience
0-2 years of job related experience
- Experience with drafting complex schematics in Altium, Visio, or similar circuit design / PCB layout software
- Extensive experience with design alterations using Solid Works or equivalent mechanical design software
- 3D printing experience
- IPC/WHMA-A-620 certified
- Experience and background performing electrical technician task such as wiring harness and circuit board fabrication and assembly of electronic warfare hardware
SKILLS
This job requires entry professional level knowledge and skills in the application of electrical engineering principles, processes and practices. Skills in application of regulations, codes and safety practices associated with electrical systems is required as is the use of office and engineering/technical related computer applications, databases and systems.
