Long-Term Substitute Teacher, 5th Grade (August 3rd – September 11th)

Our age 3 – grade 8 students experience challenging academics embedded in a nurturing environment. Our innovative curriculum uses immersive play‑ and project‑based learning to engage students, connect them to the community around them, and encourage them to make a positive impact on our ever‑changing world.
The Children’s School seeks an experienced full‑time Long‑Term Substitute Teacher for 5th Grade to start August 3, 2026.
Responsibilities- Communicate, collaborate, plan, and work effectively in teaching partnerships
- Motivate, nurture, and challenge students
- Play a meaningful role in each student’s daily school life
- Co‑plan engaging curriculum and contribute to the effective operation of the overall educational program
- Help plan and carry out daily activities and evaluate the effectiveness of those activities
- Establish and maintain a creative, self‑directed, collaborative and culturally inclusive learning environment
- Gather formative and formal feedback about student progress to guide student learning
- Assist with evaluating progress, report writing and family conferences
- Ensure the safety and well‑being of the children
Minimum Qualifications
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree
- Applicable experience working with children through a child development lens
- Understands the identity development and learning process of early adolescents
- Skilled at establishing meaningful relationships with students as a critical foundation for student engagement and academic achievement

- Master’s degree in Education, Teaching and/or relevant subject area, and at least three (3) years of experience teaching children in a classroom setting, preferably in upper elementary and/or middle grades. Experience with student mentoring, leadership, or advisory programs
- Passion for and experience in the work of diversity, equity, and inclusion
