Work schedule: Annual – 242 Days

Position Description

The Senior Director of Counseling and Wellness supports the alignment of the PK‑12 counseling and wellness programming across all Drew academies. This programming includes oversight of counseling, social work, student mental health, crisis management, on‑time graduation/academic support, college/career readiness, post‑secondary counseling, school‑wide attendance, and alumni engagement. Additionally, the director is responsible for helping guide and collaborate on the direction of programming and ultimately ensuring that the team is supported and the programs are effective.

Department

Leadership (30%)
  • Responsible for policy and protocol development, articulation of program alignment, and program development.
  • Serve as Drew’s content expert to ensure legal adherence to local, state, and national regulations.
  • Develops, reviews, and updates programs for school social work and counseling programs.
  • Prepares district and/or state reports.
  • Supports academies in the development and implementation of their comprehensive improvement plans in assigned areas.
  • Ensures adherence to policy including: coding and systems meet high school graduation requirements, attendance coding, college readiness requirements, Top State for Talent requirements, Dual enrollment/early college policies, Infinite Campus coding, credit recovery, online virtual course coding, coding of high school classes/credits, NCAA eligibility, GAFutures Reporting, Hope/Zell Eligibility and Reporting, Mandatory reporting, and sexual harassment.
  • Prepare and administer the budget of applicable program areas and coordinate distribution of resources.
Staff Support Supervision (25%)
  • Conduct observations and staff evaluations.
  • Conduct program committee meetings and individual team member meetings.
  • Troubleshoot team problems/issues as needed.
  • Ensure that programs are functioning efficiently and are within policy.
  • Develop annual schedules for all academies.
  • Ensure compliance with APS scheduling requirements.
Student Support (25%)
  • Collect and analyze data to make informed decisions.
  • Direct and lead the overall administration and coordination of Pre‑K‑12 college and career readiness enrichment programs.
  • Provide leadership and support in meeting the tiered needs of students in the areas of behavioral development, academic development, and social‑emotional development.
  • Lead the following programs:
    School Counseling, School Social Work, Attendance, Learning Lab, Early College/Dual Enrollment, college/career readiness, post‑secondary counseling, and alumni support.
  • Act as a liaison with the Chief Academic Officer and instructional teams to ensure vertical alignment of essential skills for student success in Advanced Placement and Dual Enrollment courses.
