Summer Program Counselor [Golf]

Salary: $16.00
Purpose of Classification: The purpose of this job is to oversee summer camp youth and enhance their development through golf enrichment activities. For seven weeks, we work with youth ages 5–18 to promote social, cultural and historical awareness an activity‑based curriculum.
Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with staff for the benefit of all camp affiliates.
- Group supervision of campers in activities and daily camp operations.
- Demonstrate paramount human relation skills when dealing with officials, administration, employees, parents, guests, or visitors.
- Promote and comply with organizational policies and procedures.
- Identify and meet camper needs daily.
- Plan and implement recreational, educational, and social enrichment activities for campers.
- Familiarize yourself with camp lesson plans and implement lessons.
- Attend program/staff meetings designated by supervisor.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or GED required.
- Admittance letter into a post‑secondary program or some college attendance.
- One year of experience working with youth or three summers.
- Must pass background checks for criminal and child‑protective findings.
- Must pass a drug screening.
Additional Information:
- City of Atlanta required training June 1 – June 5 2026.
- Summer staff will be required to work an 8‑hour shift Monday – Friday from June 8 – July 24 2026; vacation requests during this time will not be approved.
- All summer staff must be actively involved with campers during swim times and wear a bathing suit (one‑piece for females, swimming trunks with lining for males). Staff is not required to know how to swim or teach swim lessons.
