DepartmentInformation
The H. Milton Stewart School of Industrial and Systems Engineering is considered the largest Industrial Engineering program in the country. Consisting of over 60 faculty, approximately 1,250 B.S students, 5,700 M.S students, and 190 PhD students, the school is renowned for its focus on advancing theoretical and methodological frontiers as well as the application of analytical principles to the solution of real-world problems of industrial, societal, and global concern.
The School offers undergraduate and graduate degrees in industrial engineering, operations research, analytics, machine learning, and related fields.
Plan, develop and implement communications and promotional strategies and programs that optimize the visibility of a college, school or department. Responsible for setting employee goals, assessing employee performance and providing feedback, and making pay recommendations. This position will interact on a consistent basis with: faculty, staff, students, alumni, outside vendors, internal and external media contacts, alumni. This position typically will advise and counsel: unit leadership, faculty, staff and students.
This position will supervise: administrative/technical staff.
Job Duty 1 - Develop ideas and concepts for publication
Job Duty 2 - Write articles and newsletters, produce graphics and fact sheets; manage web pages
Job Duty 3 - Direct promotional events and special projects
Job Duty 4 - Attend workshops, events, lectures, etc. relating to the communications field
Job Duty 5 - Assist with promotion of fundraising efforts, as required
Job Duty 6 - Manage the communications budget, as needed
Job Duty 7 - Perform other duties as assigned
Educational RequirementsRequired Qualifications
Bachelor s Degree in Communications, Marketing, Journalism or related field or equivalent combination of education and experience
Five to seven years of job related experience
Preferred Qualifications- Outstanding written communication and editorial skills, with a body of work that reflects adaptability across audiences and formats.
- Proficiency with creative and marketing tools, including Adobe Creative Suite, Canva Pro, email marketing systems (Constant Contact, Emma, Mail Chimp, etc.), social media platforms, and CRM software.
- Demonstrated experience producing high-quality visual and digital content, including graphic design and photography (portfolio will be requested)
- Ability to think strategically while also executing day-to-day deliverables independently.
