Summer Language Institute Instructor of Polish
Slavic Languages & Literatures - Pennsylvania-Pittsburgh - ( )
The Slavic, East European, and Near Eastern Summer Language Institute (SLI) seeks instructors of Polish for the summer of 2026.
Responsibilities- Teach a 6-week intensive course during SLI's summer session, which runs from June 1 to July 10. Classes meet five days a week from 9 am to 2:50 pm.
- Help plan cultural programming for the language program and attend institute-wide events (e.g., film and lecture series, workshops, picnics).
- Team teaching may be requested.
- Instructors will work in a primarily in-person format on the University of Pittsburgh main campus; sections may be converted to online, synchronous format via Zoom if warranted by health conditions or strong student interest in remote attendance.
- Master's degree in the language to be taught or a related field.
- Experience teaching in a college or university setting using the communicative approach or other proficiency-based methods.

- Submit a CV and, if available, representative student evaluations.
- Finalists will be asked to provide references at a later stage in the search.
