Overview

Atlanta Technical College (ATC) is seeking highly qualified applicants for its Adjunct Instructor (Avionics) position in the Industrial & Transportation Technologies department of the Academic & Student Affairs division. This position is located on Atlanta Technical College’s main campus, just South of Downtown Atlanta.

Under general supervision of the Dean of the Industrial & Transportation Technology department and Program Chairperson, the Adjunct Avionics Instructor is responsible for delivering education services to students through various resources and platforms. This is a part-time position and it requires utilizing techniques that facilitate adult learning styles and demonstrates varying techniques.

Responsibilities
  • Teach evening avionics classes.
  • Prepare syllabus and other materials such as PowerPoint presentations used in classroom instruction and assist with curriculum development.
  • Set up course shells in Blackboard.
  • Manage classroom by logging attendance, reporting no-shows, assigning and reporting grades in a timely manner.
  • Grade student assignments, as well as submit final grades.
  • Advise and counsel students and maintain appropriate advisement records on each student and assist with recruitment efforts.
  • Attend department and other meetings associated with the avionics program as requested.
  • Maintain professional qualifications as appropriate for the field as described by the Technical College System of Georgia (TCSG) Policy Manual.
  • Follow rules and regulations as described by the TCSG Policy Manual, and other policies and procedures established by the institution.
  • Support the mission and vision of the college, program and TCSG.
  • Perform other program-related duties, as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications
  • Associate’s degree or higher in Avionics or Electronics from an accredited college or university.
  • Demonstrated FCC or CET licenses.
  • Post-secondary teaching experience is a plus.
  • May be required to teach at other locations and other locations within the community.
