Position: Upper School Mathematics Teacher (2026–2027)

Job Details

: Full-Time, 10-month position

Start Date: August 2026

Schedule: Standard school day

Reports To: Head of Upper School

What You Will Teach

You will teach a range of mathematics courses for grades 9-12, with opportunities to:

  • Design engaging lessons that make abstract concepts come alive
  • Teach courses aligned with your strengths and interests
  • Create a learning environment where all students feel they belong in mathematics

Your teaching load: 2-3 course preparations, 4 sections of 15-18 students each, with 3 planning periods built into your schedule.

What You'll Do Be a Mentor and Advisor
  • Serve as an advisor to approximately 10 students (grades 9-12), providing a sustained adult relationship throughout their high school journey
  • Meet with your advisory daily to open school, creating a sense of belonging and community
  • Provide primary academic advising and serve as the main point of contact for parents
  • Lead student-parent conferences each mid-semester
Contribute To School Life
  • Participate in the vibrant life of our campus through athletics, fine arts, clubs, or other Upper School activities
  • Collaborate with colleagues in department, team, and grade-level meetings
  • Attend assemblies, chapels, and school events with your advisory
  • Offer afternoon tutorials (Monday-Thursday) and optional morning sessions to support student learning
Engage With Families
  • Provide regular, meaningful feedback to students and clear communication with parents
  • Write thoughtful mid-semester comments for every student
  • Participate in evening and weekend events (parent nights, admission open houses, graduation ceremonies)
Who You Are

Education & Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree with significant coursework in mathematics or a related field (Master's preferred)
  • A passion for teaching adolescents and helping them develop mathematical thinking
  • Commitment to designing curriculum and assessments that reach diverse learners (academically, culturally, racially, religiously)
