What You'll Do- Develop curriculum materials including course outlines, syllabi, and other instructional resources that engage, inspire, and challenge students
- Carry out all responsibilities associated with teaching your assigned classes, fostering critical thinking, communication, collaboration, and creativity
- Employ a variety of instructional techniques, including meaningful use of technology, to reach diverse learners across a range of abilities
- Demonstrate flexibility and responsiveness to different learning styles, ensuring every student can access and excel in science
- Conduct before- and after-school tutorials as scheduled to provide targeted student support
- Develop an atmosphere of trust where students feel known, valued, and challenged as individuals
- Ensure students adhere to The Lovett School behavioral guidelines while maintaining a positive, engaging learning environment
- Participate actively in regularly scheduled department, faculty, team, interdisciplinary, and grade-level meetings
- Work in a collaborative learning community that values growth mindset, shared expertise, and continuous improvement
- Contribute to interdisciplinary connections that help students see science in broader contexts
- Be actively involved in the life of the school outside of the classroom through athletics, clubs, activities, or other community-building roles
- Fulfill additional duties as assigned, contributing to the vibrancy and mission of our school community
Your Education & Experience
- Bachelor's degree in a related field with a strong background in biological and/or physical science (required)
- Master's degree or higher preferred
- You have the drive, organization, and flexibility to work in a fast-paced environment and contribute to the school community beyond the classroom
- You employ a variety of instructional techniques, including meaningful use of technology, to engage students and develop their critical thinking, communication, collaboration, and creativity
- You demonstrate flexibility and responsiveness to a variety of learning styles and abilities, meeting students where they are
- You have a strong desire to work in a collaborative learning community, employing a growth mindset and learning alongside colleagues
- Excellent written and oral communication skills to facilitate effective communication with students, parents, colleagues, and supervisors
- Desire and ability to develop an atmosphere of trust and knowledge of students as individuals
- Ethical behavior, professionalism, and respect for diversity in all aspects of your work
