To support our mission, we are hiring a Manager of
Youth Leadership to join the Youth Leadership team and report to the Youth Leadership Director. This role will primarily support Earth Tomorrow Atlanta and Eco-Schools U.S. in Greater Atlanta, engaging schools and students in hands‑on learning experiences that foster leadership development, environmental literacy, action‑driven projects, civic engagement, career exploration, and a deeper connection to the outdoors. The Program Manager will leverage their classroom or outdoor teaching experience, deep understanding of environmental issues, and proven experience working with youth from diverse backgrounds to develop and deliver culturally relevant programming.

Because this position supports several schools and educators throughout the Greater Atlanta area, we are seeking a candidate who brings strong local context and community connections. A deep understanding of Atlanta’s history, culture, and environmental landscape will strengthen NWF’s ability to provide place‑based learning experiences that complement classroom instruction and inspire meaningful student action projects. Principle

Duties (major areas of responsibility)
  • Program Oversight and Implementation: Manage all aspects of NWF’s Earth Tomorrow program and support the integration of Eco-Schools U.S. across the Greater Atlanta area, including planning, coordination with diverse stakeholders (students, teachers, and school administrators), timeline management, budgeting, and reporting.
  • Partnership Development and

    Collaboration:

    Develop and maintain strategic partnerships centered on equity, including collaborations with local Environmental Justice organizations, to expand program reach and enrich student experiences.
  • Communications and Public Engagement: Support the creation of outreach material, communication plans and social media strategy to promote the Earth Tomorrow Atlanta program and amplify student voices, projects, and achievements.
  • Youth Safeguarding: Ensure compliance with all NWF youth safeguarding policies and protocols. Communicate real‑time experiences from the field with NWF’s youth safeguarding team to support continuous policy improvement.
  • Evaluation & Reporting: Track program outcomes, assess impact, and contribute to reports for funders, partners, and internal teams.
Required Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s degree in education or a related field.
  • Minimum of 3 years teaching experience or equivalent experience working with high school youth.
  • Proven project management skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities, meet deadlines, and deliver high‑quality results.
  • Upholds the highest standards of safety, care, and respect for all youth participants, ensuring their well‑being remains a top priority.
  • Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and a solutions‑oriented mindset.
  • Demonstrated ability to balance supervisor‑directed priorities with self‑initiated work, functioning both independently and collaboratively with colleagues in small and large group settings.
