Atlanta Technical College (ATC) is seeking highly qualified applicants for the Program Coordinator – Construction Management (Full-Time) position within the Industrial & Transportation Technology department our Academic and Student Affairs Division. This position is located at Atlanta Technical College’s Main Campus, just south of Downtown Atlanta.
Under the general supervision of the Dean of Industrial and Transportation Technology, the Program Coordinator – Construction Management (F/T), provides instruction and support to students in the Construction Management program. This position requires utilizing techniques that facilitate adult learning styles and demonstrates varying techniques.
The job duties include, but may not be limited to, the following:
- Coordinate the Construction Management Program, to include equipment, supervision of adjuncts, and maintenance of program compliance.
- Must be able to teach subjects relating to: blueprint reading, estimating, project management, building codes, construction design, etc.
- Contribute to the maintenance of approved carpentry and construction management programs at Atlanta Technical College.
- Display willingness to receive input and undergo internal review of processes and procedures used in the classroom.
- Assist with curriculum development and maintain curriculum standards that are current.
- Must be able to use appropriate teaching techniques to engage groups of students in different activities simultaneously.
- Able to apply appropriate testing and grading procedures, including proper maintenance of grade books and any other appropriate record-keeping.
- Ability to monitor students’ use of supplies, materials, and equipment.
- Advise and counsel students and maintain appropriate advisement records on each student.
- Attend meetings as required and appropriate.
- Observe and enforce the institution's policies and regulations.
- Assist with student recruitment and job placement as requested by supervisor.
- Serve on committees as requested by supervisors.
- Must be able to multitask and respond to deadlines in a timely manner.
- Maintain professional qualifications as appropriate for the field and as described by the Technical College System of Georgia (TCSG) Policy Manual.
- Follow rules and regulations as described by the TCSG Policy Manual, and other policies and procedures established by the institution.
- Perform additional duties, as assigned.
- Knowledge of project management in an academic setting
- Knowledge of personal best practices, rules, and testing needs
- Ability to break larger tasks into manageable smaller tasks
- Oral and written communication skills
- Skill in the operation of computers and job-related software programs
- Skill in organization and accurate recordkeeping
- Skills in interpersonal relations and in dealing with the public
- Decision making and problem-solving skills
- Demonstrated knowledge of current procedures in the carpentry, construction, and construction management fields
- Note:
Experience may substitute for the degree on a year-for-year basis
- Master’s degree in Construction Management or a related field
- Three (3) or more years of paid, in-field experience in Construction or Construction Project Management
- Occupational experience must meet Southern Association of Colleges and Schools Commission on Colleges (SACSCOC) requirements for teaching in the area of instruction
- National Center for Construction Education and Research (NCCER) Certification
- Demonstrated oral and written communication skills
