Position:
Responsibilities- Teaching – 95%:
Oversight of students clinical activities to include treatment planning, professionalism and ethics, and private practice instruction. Participation in comprehensive care/general dentistry courses at the pre-doctoral and post-doctoral level. Participation in the faculty practice and research is expected. Preference given to candidates with clinical experience and expertise in advanced technologies, digital workflow and/or dental implants to support expansion of the advanced technology curricula. - Service – 5%:
Participate in Department, DCG, and AU committees and complete annual compliance training.
- General Dentistry Experience, Dental Degree from US accredited school (DMD, DDS or foreign equivalent).
- Assistant Professor – Early level career with appropriate background, education, and training.
- Associate Professor – Mid level career with at least five years at the rank of Assistant Professor with appropriate background, education, and training.
- Professor – Senior level career with at least five years at the rank of Associate Professor with appropriate background, education, and training.
- Required faculty employment qualifications for all USG institutions and all academic ranks within these institutions shall be:
- Consistent with SACSCOC requirements for institutional accreditation
- Evidence of ability as a teacher
- Evidence of activity as a scholar and ability in all other duties
- Successful experience (waived for those just entering the academic profession who meet all other requirements)
- Desirable personal qualities judged on the basis of personal interview, complete biographical data, and recommendations
- Digital Dentistry
- Previous teaching experience, experience in digital dentistry. Significant clinical experience, post-graduate training in general dentistry or prior experience in dental education and working knowledge of practice management.
This position is fiscal year based and works year-round. The intended work commitment or full-time equivalent (FTE) is between 0.5-0.74 FTE and is considered partially benefits eligible. The FTE will be determined at the time of hire after discussions during the interview process with the successful candidate. The selected candidate will select from a retirement plan and accrue leave at a prorated amount based on finalized FTE.
- Assistant Professor – Salary commensurate with education, experience, and achievements. Salary subject to availability of funds.
- Associate Professor – Salary commensurate with education, experience, and achievements. Salary subject to availability of funds.
- Professor – Salary commensurate with education, experience, and achievements. Salary subject to availability of funds.

- Rank and salary determined at hire based on experience, education, credentials, and market data.
