The Mathematics Department at Perimeter College is seeking to hire a Student Development Specialist (Temp) to support the Perimeter College campuses.

The Student Development Specialist (Temp) works as part of the Mathematics Department to assist students and faculty in effective use of classroom/laboratory resources in Corequisite courses for Introductory Mathematics Classes. In addition, the Student Development Specialist (Temp) will conduct workshops, track student progress, provide academic tutorial services, study sessions, and supplemental instruction for students. Occasional travel to satellite campus (Clarkston, Decatur, and Dunwoody).

The position requires competence in the basics of mathematics (GPA of 3.0 in the mathematics courses), successful completion of college mathematics classes including college algebra, elementary statistics, and Pre-calculus, good communication skills, computer literacy, and a willingness to work with others and complete on-the-job training.

Minimum Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree and two years of related experience; or a high school or GED and six years of related experience; or a combination of education and experience.
