the Department

The Department of Fine Arts at Perimeter College, home to the disciplines of art, music, theatre, and film, delivers a top-tier education and exceptional access to hands‑on experiences. In addition to extensive course offerings, the department offers professional, student and community exhibitions, along with guest lectures and musical and theatrical performances. Graduates from our department have gone on to successful careers in the arts, in education, in law and in business.

Position Description

Perimeter College is seeking instructors to teach film analysis and history courses in the spring semester of 2026, in particular at the Dunwoody and Newton campuses.

Required Education

Applicants MUST have a minimum of a master’s degree with 18 graduate semester hours (or 27 graduate quarter hours) in film history, theory, and analysis.

Preferred Qualifications

Teaching experience preferred.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
  • Ability to teach Film History and Analysis at the collegiate level.
  • Ability to teach effectively using a variety of methods, relate to students and facilitate student learning.
  • Effective communication skills needed.
  • Excellent organizational and teaching skills.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of instructional technology is required.
Pre-Employment Requirements

A criminal background check is required.

Work Hours

Position may require non-standard hours (including day, evening, online, hybrid, weekend and/or other campus locations).

Salary

$3075.00 for each 3-semester credit hour course taught.
