Perimeter College Department of Mathematics provides students with a strong foundation to transfer to a four-year college and continue into the workforce or graduate studies. Math clubs and programs such as STEM or MESA help to increase academic performance. Students also have opportunities to compete in national tests sponsored by the American Mathematical Association of Two Year Colleges and gain access to support from tutoring, scholarships and grants.
PositionDescription
Limited Term Instructor positions are non-tenure track, term-to-term appointments renewable up to four semesters. The selected candidate will be responsible for teaching at least 18 credit hours of mathematics courses per semester, maintaining at least 8 office hours per week, and adhering to all College and departmental policies, practices, and deliverables.
Compensation: $26,675 per semester (Fall, Spring), with Master s degree; $29,250 per semester (Fall, Spring), with Doctoral degree
Qualifications Required ExperienceExperience teaching high school or college mathematics
Required EducationTo qualify to teach Mathematics, applicant MUST have: a minimum of a Master s degree in Mathematics (completed by the date of appointment) or a minimum of a Master s degree with at least 18 semester or 27 quarter graduate credit hours in mathematics coursework (completed by the anticipated date of appointment).
Preferred Qualifications /Experience- Experience teaching a variety of undergraduate college-level mathematics courses
- Experience engaging with and teaching a diverse student population as found at Perimeter College's open-access institution.
- The ability to teach college-level mathematics courses, including at least Quantitative Reasoning, Elementary Statistics, College Algebra, and Pre Calculus
- The ability to teach effectively using a variety of methods and modalities (both face-to-face and online)
- The ability to incorporate evidence-based pedagogy and/or innovative instructional technology in mathematics
- The ability to maintain appropriate records
- Excellent oral and written communication, organizational, and computer skills
