Adjunct Instructor of Dual-Degree Engineering S26.1 Position Summary
The Department of Physics & Dual-Degree Engineering in the Division of STEM seeks a part‑time faculty member to teach courses in Engineering. College‑level teaching experience is preferred. The major in Dual‑Degree Engineering offers a broad range of courses including:
Mechanics, Electricity & Magnetism, Optics & Modern Physics, Engineering Design, Engineering Graphics, Engineering Statics, Mechanics of Materials, Engineering Dynamics, and Project Management in STEM. Teaching experience in any of the aforementioned courses is preferred.
- Master’s degree or higher in Engineering, Physics, or a related field with appropriate graduate hours.
- Teaching within an online management system preferred.
- Preferred Education/Experience in the relevant discipline.
- Additional teaching or industry experience will strengthen the application.
- Knowledge of the specific academic discipline for instruction of the major.
- Knowledge of pedagogical strategies and methods of student assessment.
- Ability to convey complex ideas and techniques.
- Computer literacy and instructional technology skills required.
- Develop course content and other course materials in support of course and learning outcomes and adhere to departmental required texts, if any.
- Prepare, administer, and grade assignments and examinations in a timely manner to provide students with clear progress feedback and opportunities for success.
- Schedule and maintain appropriate office hours proportionate to the instructional assignment and provide timely communication to students using the Morehouse network.
