Job SummaryThe Occupational Physician works closely and collaboratively with the Senior Director of Practice Operations and Nurse Manager locally, as well, as the SVP of Ambulatory Care Services and Associate Vice President of Primary Care, to ensure high quality, safe, timely, patient centered, team-based patient care in accordance with the mission and vision of Grady Health System. Occupational Physician in Employee Health and Wellness Center is responsible for occupational medicine functions.
Responsibilities- Ensures provision of safe, high quality, proactive, comprehensive, culturally-competent medical care
- Ensures appropriate hand off for work-related injury and illness to WC vendor; assists with incident management and OSHA reporting
- Oversees and manages employee return to work, fitness for duty evaluations and medical clearance determinations in collaboration with HR
- Oversees medical onboarding for all workforce members
- Attends committee meetings and gives reports to ensure medical compliance of employees
- Works with Director of EOHW to ensure compliance with all regulatory and system guidelines and requirements.
- Timely and active monitoring of in-basket messages and completion of charts and forms
- Medical Degree (MD or DO)
- Board certification required, or eligibility in Primary Care Specialty including Occupational Medicine, Family Medicine, Internal Medicine. If board eligible, certification required in 1 year of employment
- Licensed by the State of Georgia without restriction to practice medicine required
- Occupational Medicine Residency preferred
- Masters degree in Public Health preferred
- Certified Medical Examiner Certification(CME) preferred
- DEA License required
- 3+ years in developing occupational health strategies and policies preferred
- 3+ years of demonstrated proficiency in Occupational Medicine experience
