Overview Of The Role
Slack is where work happens. Our Productivity team builds the tools people use every day to plan, think, meet, and get work done—right inside Slack. We’re looking for a Product Designer to help design and improve Slack’s native productivity tools like Canvas, Lists, Files, Huddles, Email, and Calendar
. In this role, you’ll work on well-scoped product areas, solve real user problems, and help make work feel simpler and more organized.
You’ll partner closely with Product Managers, Engineers, and other Designers to ship thoughtful, high-quality experiences used by millions of people.
Responsibilities- Design user flows, screens, and interactions for productivity features
- Turn product requirements into clear, usable designs
- Work closely with Product and Engineering partners to ship features
- Use Slack’s design system to create consistent, high-quality work
- Create prototypes and mockups to explore and explain ideas
- Ask for and apply feedback to improve your designs
- Take ownership of features or small product areas
- Grow your skills in problem-solving, craft, and collaboration
- Learn how design decisions connect to user needs and business goals
- Contribute to improving design quality across the team
- Experience working on complex, real-world product problems
- Exposure to large-scale systems and collaboration tools
- Opportunities to learn from senior designers and cross-functional partners
- Help people get work done more easily in Slack
- Improve clarity, usability, and polish across productivity tools
- Ship features that are thoughtful, accessible, and useful
- A portfolio showing strong UX thinking, interaction design, and visual craft
- Experience designing and shipping product features end-to-end
- Ability to solve well-scoped problems with guidance
- Experience working closely with Product Managers and Engineers
- Familiarity with design systems and component-based design
- Strong attention to detail and design quality
- Clear written and verbal communication skills
- Experience using AI as part of your design process to explore ideas, iterate, or improve your work
Nice to have, but not required:
- Experience designing productivity or collaboration tools
- Experience running or supporting user research
- Comfort with prototyping tools to test ideas
- Familiarity with accessibility basics
- Curiosity about how AI can improve everyday work

The typical base salary range for this position is $128,500 - $176,700 annually; in select cities in the SF and NYC metropolitan areas the range is $141,200 - $194,200 annually. The range represents base salary only and does not include bonus, incentive, equity, or benefits.
