Architectural Designer
Join Barge Design Solutions as an Architectural Designer. In this role you will independently work on architectural design projects, providing design solutions and technical support to project teams.
Key Responsibilities- Develop models, drawings, and construction documents from defined objectives.
- Obtain and incorporate project information to ensure drawings are accurate and coordinated.
- Design and present architectural solutions for complex elements.
- Provide technical input to address design challenges.
- Coordinate with internal disciplines and consultants for integration and constructability.
- Communicate with clients regarding architectural aspects and participate in client meetings.
- Review, critique, and quality‑check drawings prepared by others.
- Assist with preparation of cost estimates, quantity takeoffs, and design narratives.
- Interpret and apply applicable codes, standards, and guidelines.
- Act as project‑specific design lead for architectural production when required.
- Mentor less experienced designers and interns.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- Associate or bachelor’s degree in Architecture, Architectural Technology, or related field with 6+ years of relevant experience.
- Progress toward architectural licensure preferred.
- Advanced architectural knowledge through progressive experience to resolve complex challenges.
- Proficiency in Revit, AutoCAD, and other production software.
- Strong understanding of architectural drawing standards, building systems, constructability, and coordination requirements.
- Initiative, accountability, and resourcefulness in completing assignments.
- Clear and professional communication with internal teams and clients.
