Overview

The Graphic Designer will join an established graphics team and support Marketing Department and corporate goals by developing graphic solutions that present Hillman’s products in a logical and impactful manner. The Graphic Designer is responsible for the creation and preparation of detailed graphics for customer presentations, trade shows, product line reviews, package design and in-store signage.

Essential Job Functions
  • Think creatively to produce new ideas and concepts.
  • Create design solutions that have a high visual impact.
  • Up-to-date knowledge of design software, and a professional approach to time, costs and deadlines.
  • Demonstrate hands-on skills in Adobe Creative Suite, especially InDesign, Photoshop, Illustrator & Acobat. Proficiency with InDesign Master Pages and Style Sheets a must.
  • Ability to adhere to established guidelines i.e., archiving files.
  • Interpret the needs of internal project managers and develop concepts to suit their purpose.
  • Communicate with internal project managers to redefine requirements within the constraints of cost and time.
  • Ability to collaborate with graphics team, as well as work independently to meet deadlines.
  • Manage multiple projects and remain flexible through multiple revisions, maintaining a keen attention to detail.

Education & Experience
  • Bachelor’s degree in Graphic Arts or equivalent in education and experience.
  • Minimum three years’ professional experience in graphics environment.
Competencies – Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
  • Strong organizational and time management skills — able to work independently as well as collaboratively with team members to meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite in a Mac environment (InDesign, Illustrator, Photoshop, Acrobat); proficiency with InDesign Master Pages and Style Sheets a must.
  • Photography experience preferred — with emphasis on product and display photography.

Work Environment

Office setting. Seldom exposed to fumes or airborne particles. Loud working environment of the shop area. Functional vision and hearing required.
