Marketing Content Proofreader

Job Description

Insight Global is assisting a marketing client of ours in hiring a meticulous Marketing Content Proofreader to ensure every piece of outbound print/direct mail content is accurate, consistent, and on‑brand before it reaches customers. You’ll be the final quality gate for letters, postcards, brochures, and related collateral—catching errors in grammar, punctuation, spelling, formatting, and variable data, and partnering closely with designers, marketers, print vendors, and sales operations.

• Proofread outbound print media (letters, postcards, brochures, buckslips, inserts) for grammar, spelling, punctuation, clarity, tone, consistency, and brand adherence.
• Validate personalization/variable fields (names, addresses, offer codes), dates, legal disclaimer, and call‑to‑action details across versions and runs.
• Check layout/formatting elements (widows/orphans, line breaks, margins, page order), ensuring print‑readiness and consistency with supplied art.
• Perform side‑by‑side comparisons between vendor proofs and approved copy to ensure accuracy before sign‑off.
• Draft and revise new direct mail letters and small copy updates as capacity allows.

• Bachelor’s degree in English, Literature, Communications, Journalism, or closely related field (or equivalent practical experience).
• Demonstrated eagle‑eye attention to detail; pride in catching the last 1% of issues.
• Mastery of English grammar and style (familiarity with AP or Chicago a plus).
• Comfort working in a high‑volume environment with multiple concurrent assets and rapid turnarounds.
• Proficiency with Adobe Acrobat (commenting/compare), Microsoft Word/Excel, and shared review workflows; familiarity with proofreader’s marks helpful.
