Your New Role:

CNN is looking for a strategic, audience‑centric Senior Product Manager to lead the vision, strategy, and execution of our newsletter portfolio, one of our most direct and impactful channels for engaging readers. This role plays a pivotal part in shaping how CNN builds meaningful relationships through the inbox. Your guiding mission will be to expand the reach, deepen the relevance, and increase the retention value of newsletters as a key component of CNN’s broader user funnel and subscription ecosystem.

This includes setting engagement benchmarks, promoting best practices, advocating for exceptional user experiences, and staying ahead of emerging industry trends.

If you thrive in a collaborative environment, bring an entrepreneurial mindset, and excel at navigating ambiguity while keeping the customer experience front and center, this is an exciting opportunity to make a lasting impact.

Your Role Accountabilities
  • Create and evolve the product vision and roadmap for CNN’s newsletter ecosystem, aligning with editorial, audience, and business objectives.
  • Partner with editorial, audience, engineering and design to deliver scalable, high‑quality solutions across platforms and devices.
  • Set and track growth and engagement goals for each newsletter and support teams in achieving them.
  • Collaborate with the Senior Director of Newsletters (Audience) to refine email strategy and guide desks and newsletter editors on best practices for execution.

  • Collaborate with the Senior Director of Newsletters (Audience) to oversee newsletter performance reporting and communicate insights to stakeholders.
  • Champion user experience and innovation, leveraging data, industry trends, and reader feedback to inform product decisions.
  • Stay current on industry best practices and present new opportunities to newsroom and company leadership.
Qualifications & Experience
  • 5+ years of product management experience, ideally in media, publishing, or audience engagement.
  • Proven success managing email or newsletter products at scale.
  • Strong analytical skills; skilled in A/B testing, segmentation, and personalization strategies.
  • Demonstrated success leading cross‑functional initiatives and collaborating with editorial, growth, and analytics partners.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
  • Passion for journalism and audience‑first thinking.
  • Comfortable working in a fast‑paced, evolving media environment with shifting priorities and high editorial standards.
  • Passion for creating compelling, useful, and habit‑forming…
