Lead Estimator

We are shortlisting Lead Estimators for an established, nationally recognized $B+ general contractor, to join its growing preconstruction team in the Atlanta market. This role will lead estimating efforts across a diverse commercial portfolio, playing a key part in securing and shaping major projects from early pursuit through contract award. The ideal candidate is strategic, detail-oriented, and experienced in managing full-cycle estimating on large, complex builds.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead the full estimating process from conceptual budgeting through hard bids and GMP development.
• Manage and mentor estimating team members and support staff.
• Develop detailed cost estimates, quantity takeoffs, and pricing strategies.
• Coordinate closely with preconstruction, operations, and business development teams.
• Lead subcontractor outreach, bid levelling, and scope analysis.
• Identify project risks, value engineering opportunities, and cost-saving strategies.
• Present estimates and pricing recommendations to senior leadership and clients.

Qualifications:

• 4+ years of estimating experience with a commercial general contractor.
• Proven experience leading estimates on large-scale commercial projects.
• Strong knowledge of construction methods, materials, and market pricing.
• Experience with conceptual estimating and early-phase budgeting.
• Demonstrated leadership or mentorship experience within an estimating team.
• Proficiency with industry estimating software and systems.
