The Construction Commercial Estimator is responsible for preparing accurate and competitive cost estimates for commercial construction projects. This role analyzes project plans, specifications, and related documents to determine labor, material, equipment, and subcontractor costs. The estimator works closely with project managers, clients, vendors, and subcontractors to ensure bids are comprehensive and competitive while maintaining profitability.

Key Responsibilities- Review and interpret construction drawings, specifications, and bid documents
- Perform quantity take-offs and detailed cost analysis
- Prepare comprehensive cost estimates and bid proposals
- Solicit and evaluate subcontractor and supplier quotations
- Conduct site visits to assess project conditions and risks
- Identify cost-saving opportunities and value engineering options
- Maintain historical cost data and estimating databases
- Collaborate with project managers during preconstruction and handover
- Attend pre-bid meetings and client presentations
- Track bid results and analyze estimate performance
- Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Quantity Surveying, or related field (preferred)
- 3+ years of estimating experience in commercial construction
- Strong understanding of construction methods, materials, and building codes
- Proficiency in estimating software (e.g., Procore, Plan Swift, Bluebeam, or similar tools)
- Advanced skills in Microsoft Excel
- Strong analytical and mathematical abilities
- Excellent communication and negotiation skills
- Experience with large-scale commercial projects (office, retail, healthcare, industrial, etc.)
- Knowledge of contract types (lump sum, GMP, cost-plus)
- Familiarity with value engineering practices
- Ability to manage multiple bids simultaneously under tight deadlines
- Office-based with occasional site visits
- May require extended hours during bid deadlines
