Mission Hires is supporting a long-standing Atlanta-based commercial general contractor (30+ years) expanding across the Southeast in hiring a Traveling Retail Construction Superintendent. This role oversees ground-up commercial and industrial projects—such as tilt-up concrete, warehouses/distribution centers, and big-box/large retail—from start through closeout. The Superintendent acts as an on-site ambassador to clients, ensuring safety, schedule, quality, and budget outcomes on remote projects across the Southeast.
Compensation includes $100–120k base, annual profit sharing, free healthcare premiums, 401(k) with match, and PTO.
- Lead ground-up commercial/industrial construction projects from mobilization through closeout across the Southeast
- Serve as primary on-site representative and ambassador to the owner/client, fostering strong relationships
- Own and maintain the project schedule; sequence work, track milestones, and drive timely delivery
- Coordinate daily with office staff, trade partners, and vendors to execute work plans
- Enforce and maintain a safe work environment; uphold company and regulatory safety standards
- Monitor quality workmanship and adherence to plans, specs, and performance standards
- Manage site logistics, materials, inspections, and subcontractor performance
- Track progress, identify risks, and implement corrective actions to protect budget and timeline
- Provide regular updates and reports to company management on project status and issues
- Oversee punch list, turnover, and project closeout documentation
- Proven experience as a Traveling or On-site Superintendent on ground-up commercial/industrial projects
- Hands-on background with tilt-wall/tilt-up concrete, warehouse/distribution centers, and/or big-box/large retail builds
- Willingness and ability to travel extensively for remote projects across the Southeast
- Demonstrated success managing schedule, budget, safety, quality, and subcontractor coordination
- Strong communication and client-facing skills; ability to act as a professional company ambassador
- Proficiency in reading construction plans/specs and coordinating inspections and trade activities
- Track record of delivering projects from start through closeout
