The On-Site Safety Manager is responsible for ensuring the safety and health of all workers, subcontractors, and visitors on large-scale tilt-wall construction projects. This role involves developing, implementing, and enforcing safety protocols and regulations to maintain a safe working environment, reduce hazards, and comply with OSHA and local safety standards. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of safety practices in commercial construction, particularly in tilt-wall projects, and be proactive in identifying and mitigating risks.
Responsibilities include:
• Implement and manage the site-specific safety plan, ensuring it aligns with company policies, OSHA regulations, and other relevant safety standards.
• Identify, communicate, and mitigate hazards associated with tilt-wall construction, heavy equipment operation, and other high-risk activities on site.
• Conduct regular safety inspections and audits of the construction site to identify hazards, unsafe conditions, or unsafe work practices, and take immediate corrective actions.
• Respond to any incidents or accidents, investigate root causes, and prepare comprehensive reports. Develop and implement corrective actions to prevent reoccurrence.
• Provide safety orientation and ongoing training to all workers, subcontractors, and visitors on site safety policies, procedures, and best practices. Ensure everyone is informed of site-specific hazards.
• Lead regular safety meetings, toolbox talks, and other communications to promote safety awareness and update workers on safety policies, site changes, and potential risks.
• Ensure compliance with OSHA regulations, company safety standards, and local and state laws.
• Maintain proper documentation of safety activities, including injury logs, inspection records, and reports.
• Ensure all workers and visitors on-site use appropriate Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) and that it is maintained and inspected regularly.
• Work closely with project managers, superintendents, and subcontractors to ensure a safe work environment and address safety concerns promptly.
• Capable of working long days and weekends per project demands.
• Walks jobsites regularly to observe construction activities and safety.
• Maintain positive relationships with customers, contractors, suppliers and other employees.
• Respectful to client in all circumstances.
• Manages jobsite safety and safe work practices to ensure all company employees and subcontractors are adhering to the company safety policy.

Physical Demands:
• Transportation to and from project.
• Relocation for out of town projects when required.
• Must be able to travel about all project areas which may require climbing stairs, ladders, scaffolding, working from suspended staging, stepping into and out of excavations, and varying heights.
• Must be capable of working in a variety of physical positions which include, but are not limited to, sitting, standing, kneeling, squatting, walking and driving.
• Must be able to lift, carry or otherwise move or position objects weighing up to 50 pounds.
• Meet Vision Standard:
Ability to see 20/40 with both eyes together, with or without corrective lenses.
Environmental/
Working Conditions:
• 99% field office and site environment.
• 1% office environment.
• Work will involve exposure to varying noise and dust levels.
• Must be able to work in a variety of weather conditions which include, but are not limited to, extreme heat, humidity, rainfall, compliment of all seasons, combined with varying starting and stopping times.
• Bachelor’s degree in Occupational Safety, Construction Management, or related field preferred
• 5+ years of experience as a Safety Manager in commercial construction, ideally in tilt-wall or large-scale projects. Preference given to candidates who have experience working for concrete self-performing general contractor.
