This position focuses on layout verification, field coordination, document management, quality tracking, and direct support of superintendents and trade partners. Field Engineers serve as the eyes and ears of the leadership team, ensuring accurate execution while learning the systems, sequencing, and tools needed to grow into an Assistant Superintendent role.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Support field operations on large-scale, mission-critical data center projects.
  • Assist with site layout, benchmarks, control points, and verification of in-field conditions.
  • Perform tape checks, sleeve/penetration location verification, and reference submittal drawings to validate in-place work.
  • Support trade partners with RFI resolution and interpretation of plans.
  • Maintain and update as-builts, redlines, and field drawings in coordination with VDC/BIM and QA/QC teams.
  • Document daily work activities, field observations, and safety audits.
  • Support QA/QC inspections and checklists for MEP and CSA scopes.
  • Participate in daily huddles, weekly work planning sessions, and pull plan meetings.
  • Support Assistant Superintendents with daily manpower tracking and three-week look-ahead.
  • Help identify field constraints and proactively escalate for resolution.
  • Assist with progress photo documentation, quantity tracking, and logistical coordination (laydown areas, hoisting, deliveries).
  • Interface with procurement teams to confirm delivery dates and field readiness.
  • Monitor jobsite for housekeeping, access, and compliance with the site-specific safety plan.
  • Support LOTO, confined space, and hot work permit tracking under supervision.
  • Use Procore, Bluebeam, BIM 360, or other project platforms to manage RFIs, submittals, punch lists, and site documents.
  • Perform reality capture tasks (e.g., 360° photos, drone documentation support, scan-to-BIM coordination).
Education, Experience, and Licensing/Certifications
  • 0–2 years of construction experience, co-op, or internship in a field-related role.
  • Bachelor’s degree in construction management, Civil, Electrical, or Mechanical Engineering, or related field.
  • Proficiency in reading construction drawings, submittals, and specifications.
  • Comfortable working in a high-tech, MEP-intensive environment.
