Employment Type: Contract (1099 for first 90 days), with opportunity for Full-Time W-2 employment
Position SummaryThe Onsite Construction Superintendent is responsible for overseeing all day-to-day field operations on construction projects, ensuring work is completed safely, on schedule, within budget, and in accordance with project plans and specifications. This position will begin as a 1099 contract role for the first 90 days, serving as a working trial period, with the opportunity to transition into a full-time W-2 position based on performance and business needs.
Key Responsibilities- Oversee and manage all on-site construction activities from project start through completion
- Coordinate subcontractors, labor, equipment, and material deliveries
- Ensure work is performed in accordance with project plans, specifications, and local building codes
- Maintain a safe, clean, and organized job site at all times
- Conduct daily site walks, safety meetings, and quality checks
- Monitor project schedules and address delays or issues proactively
- Serve as the primary on-site point of contact for project managers, inspectors, and subcontractors
- Communicate progress, challenges, and updates to the Project Manager
- Enforce company policies, jobsite safety protocols, and OSHA standards
- Maintain accurate daily logs, reports, and project documentation
- 5+ years of experience as a Construction Superintendent or similar role
- Strong understanding of construction methods, sequencing, and scheduling
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints, schedules, and specifications
- Proven leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills
- Strong knowledge of OSHA safety standards and jobsite compliance
- Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation
- Independent contractor status for the initial 90-day period
- Responsible for own taxes, insurance, and benefits during contract term
- Performance will be evaluated for potential transition to W-2 employment
- OSHA 30 certification
- Commercial and/or residential construction experience
- First Aid/CPR certification
- Experience with construction management software
- Ability to work on-site in varying weather conditions
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and perform typical construction site duties
