This Data Center Construction Manager is a senior-level field leadership role for a household name currently working on various Data Center project, this role will be responsible for the daily direction, coordination, and oversight of construction activities and field teams on assigned data center projects in the Atlanta area.
- Location: Atlanta, GA
- Schedule: Monday–Friday, daytime hours
- Safety is the top priority. Champion and enforce the company Safety Program and all client safety policies to ensure every team member goes home safe every day.
- Take ownership of site safety performance; lead safety meetings, audits, and inspections.
- Participate in safety incident investigations, root cause analyses (RCAs), and lessons learned.
- Assist in the development, implementation, and monitoring of Quality Control (QC) programs.
- Work in close partnership with QA/QC teams to ensure installation quality meets project specifications; take ownership of punch list resolution and continuous improvement.
- Participate in the development and execution of project plans, schedules, and sequencing strategies.
- Develop and maintain rolling 5-week lookahead schedules.
- Manage workforce allocation and productivity to meet or exceed project schedules and budget targets.
- Coordinate with project management and procurement teams to align material deliveries with construction schedules.
- Support testing, commissioning, and turnover activities for mission-critical systems.
- Lead, mentor, and coach field supervisors, foremen, and craft personnel.
- Conduct performance evaluations, provide feedback, and set development goals for field personnel.
- Monitor and resolve issues related to work procedures, conflicts, complaints, incidents, and schedule impacts.
- Serve as a senior Subject Matter Expert, providing solutions to technically complex construction challenges.
- Ensure construction activities comply with applicable codes, standards, and project specifications relevant to data center and mission-critical environments.
- Provide technical guidance and mentorship to field teams, ensuring adherence to best practices and safety protocols.
- Ensure all required field documentation, reports, and daily logs are completed accurately and submitted on time.
- Ensure compliance with all company policies, procedures, standards, and ethical expectations.
- Proven senior field leadership experience with strong mentoring, coaching, and team-building skills.
- Solid knowledge of OSHA regulations and construction safety standards.
- Strong understanding of data center and mission-critical construction practices.
- Ability to read and interpret complex construction drawings, specifications, schedules, and technical documentation.
- Demonstrated expertise managing multiple subcontractors and large field crews.
- Strong planning, scheduling, and work sequencing skills.
- Ability to proactively identify risks, resolve conflicts, and manage changing priorities.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Strong conflict resolution skills and ability to lead diverse teams.
- Ability to interact effectively with upper management, clients, vendors, inspectors, and trade partners.
- Proficiency with MS Office, Bluebeam, and construction management software platforms.
- Ability to learn and adapt to evolving construction technologies and industry standards.
- High School Diploma or GED required; additional technical or construction education preferred.
- 5+ years of supervisory or construction management experience on large, multi-million-dollar construction projects.
- Experience managing large field teams (50+ personnel) in complex construction environments.
- Experience supporting data center new build, expansion, or retrofit projects strongly preferred.
- Experience working in mission-critical environments where uptime, safety, and quality are paramount.
- Union construction experience and knowledge of collective bargaining agreements preferred.
- Professional certifications preferred:
- OSHA 30-Hour Construction Certification (or ability to obtain within six months)
- Additional construction or project management certifications are a plus
