Estimating Manager – Industrial & Manufacturing Construction
Location: Atlanta, GA (office-based with project support as required)

Role OverviewAn established construction organisation is seeking an experienced Estimating Manager to lead the development of detailed cost estimates across complex industrial and manufacturing projects. This role plays a key part in supporting both competitive tenders and negotiated work, contributing to strong commercial outcomes through disciplined estimating, collaboration, and value-driven preconstruction strategies. The successful candidate will oversee the preparation of comprehensive estimates, guide cost planning activities, and support preconstruction teams in identifying efficient, buildable solutions.
Key Responsibilities- Prepare detailed cost estimates for large-scale industrial and manufacturing projects across multiple delivery models.
- Perform quantity take-offs from drawings and specifications, maintaining clear documentation and audit trails.
- Review and interpret technical specifications to ensure accurate scope coverage.
- Develop trade scopes of work, responsibility matrices, and bid packages.
- Coordinate pricing exercises with subcontractors and suppliers, including bid solicitation, evaluation, and alignment.
- Support procurement and bid-day activities, including summaries and commercial reviews.
- Integrate schedule logic, logistics, and phasing considerations into cost plans.
- Identify value opportunities and track cost optimisation initiatives through preconstruction and documentation.
- Collaborate closely with construction operations, field teams, and engineering partners to improve constructability.
- Support analysis of building systems and MEP components to inform estimating and execution strategies.
- Build working relationships across internal teams and external partners.
- Mentor and support junior estimating and preconstruction staff.
- Gain exposure to field operations through project-based support as required.
- Strong attention to detail with the ability to deliver accurate work to tight deadlines.
- Confident written and verbal communication skills, including presentation capability.
- Advanced Excel capability and solid proficiency across Microsoft Office tools.
- Proven ability to read and interpret construction drawings and specifications.
- Experience using construction estimating platforms and digital take-off tools.
- Understanding of construction means, methods, and sequencing.
- Knowledge of self-perform work, labour productivity, and general requirements.
- Familiarity with Lean construction principles and cost efficiency methodologies.
- Ability to collaborate effectively within cross-functional teams.
- Exposure to BIM and digital construction tools (e.g., Revit or similar) is advantageous.
- Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or a related discipline (preferred).
- Equivalent industry experience will be considered in lieu of formal qualifications.
- Minimum of 3 years’ experience in construction estimating.
- 5+ years total construction industry experience strongly preferred.
- Background in industrial, manufacturing, or technically complex projects desirable.
- Relocation assistance available.
