Position OverviewLocation:
Charlotte, NC.
We are looking for a Concrete Construction Estimator.
Skills Needed- Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Project, Power point), ability to communicate clearly and timely with Preconstruction Team members and Customer.
- Knowledge of takeoff methods and experience using takeoff software (e-takeoff, Plan Swift, On-Screen takeoff, etc.).
- General construction experience and knowledge of methods and processes.
- Bid Pre-Planning/Setup
:
Receive bid announcements (Invitation to Bid “ITB”) from Preconstruction Manager or Customer; set deadline for bid review and manage time to meet end date; organization skills and timeliness for bids are a must. - Bid Information Communicate To Vendors/Subs
:
Set up subcontractor/vendor bid list; contact vendors/suppliers to ensure clear communication concerning upcoming bid; send bid documents to subs via email or Egnyte; organize and keep track of all documents. - Bid Takeoff, Create Estimate
:
Perform a complete quantity takeoff utilizing Etakeoff, Bridge, and Sage Timberline software; utilize Microsoft Project to create an initial Bid Schedule; perform a takeoff of the formwork materials and input data into estimate; research local sales tax; knowledge of reviewing and adjusting estimates as needed. - Bid Review Internally with Preconstruction & Operations, Submit Bid to Customer

Work with operations leaders to ensure bid documents and logistical requirements are reviewed; highlight important items to Preconstruction Manager; review estimate, bid schedule, and sub/vendor quotes in a timely manner before bid due; discuss clarifications with Preconstruction Manager before bid submission. - Bid Follow Up
:
Follow-up with customer is critical to bid success; candidate must initiate follow up and gain insight on overall pricing.
