The Division of Family & Children Services (DFCS) is seeking candidates for the position of Child Welfare Services Technician
1. This position will report to a Child Welfare Services Case Manager Supervisor and is located in Rock Springs, Walker County, Georgia.

Pay Grade: D

Under direct supervision, provides a broad range of paraprofessional social services to clients and their families. Provides information to clients, conducts intakes or assists staff in the delivery of social services.

Job Responsibilities
  • Coordinate with community partners and stakeholders to obtain necessary documents for case files

  • Perform DNA collections to establish paternity of children involved with the agency

  • Assists with coordinating the needs of children in foster care

  • Managing and organizing case files

  • Provide supervision for children in care as needed

  • Participate in agency meetings and trainings

  • Assists with special events such as Secret Santa

  • Utilizes private vehicle for work-related travel and duties (including transportation of children)

  • Embraces ongoing learning and professional development opportunities

  • Provides administrative support to social services case managers

Minimum Qualifications
  • High school diploma/GED and one (1) year of experience in a social services‑related position.
Preferred Qualifications

Preference will be given to candidates who, in addition to meeting the minimum qualifications, demonstrate some or all of the following skills/experience.

  • Prior experience working in a child welfare related field.
  • Excellent Microsoft Word and Excel experience.
  • Reliable transportation and valid driver's license for work-related travel.
