Corporate Strategy and Development Manager - MBA Grad

We are seeking a strategic Corporate Strategy and Development Manager to join athenahealth’s growing team this summer. This role shapes how athenahealth innovates, grows, and competes within the healthcare industry through project execution spanning strategic planning, transformative business cases, acquisitions, and other Board / Executive Leadership priorities. The manager will report to the Vice President of Corporate Strategy.

The Corporate Strategy and Development teams sit at the intersection of our Executive Leadership, private equity sponsors, and our product platform. The team guides growth-oriented decisions on where and how athenahealth competes, where resources are deployed, and owns our acquisition roadmap as the company grows in its core markets and builds a repeatable model for business expansion.

• Develop comprehensive strategic plans to support athenahealth's business goals and growth initiatives.
• Day-to-day tactical management of critical CEO/ELT sponsored programs.
• Manage and execute business opportunity analyses, financial modeling, and business case development for new product opportunities, investments, and special projects.
• Analyze market trends and competitive landscapes to inform strategic decision-making.
• Partner with FP&A and other functions on the Annual Operating Plan and Long Range Plan.
• Facilitate communication and coordination between internal teams and external partners, including private equity sponsors.
• Track and report on key performance indicators related to strategy implementation and business development efforts.

• Assist in the preparation of presentations and materials for executive leadership and board meetings.
• Monitor industry developments and emerging technologies to identify strategic risks and opportunities.
• Participate in strategic planning workshops and off-site meetings.
• Help design and refine frameworks for strategic decision-making processes.

• Currently enrolled in an MBA program and graduating in Summer 2026.
• Minimum of 3 years’ experience in management consulting, product strategy, corporate strategy, investment banking, or related roles.
• Knowledge of athenahealth products is a strong plus.
• 3+ years of total professional experience demonstrating increasing responsibility and leadership.
• Proven experience managing strategic planning, business case development, or special initiatives in a corporate setting.
• Knowledge of healthcare or healthcare IT industry is a strong plus.
• Ability to communicate complex ideas effectively to diverse stakeholder groups.

$114,000 - $194,000

The base salary range shown reflects the full range for this role from minimum to maximum. At athenahealth, base pay depends on multiple factors, including job-related experience, relevant knowledge and skills, how your qualifications compare to others in similar roles, and geographical market rates. Base pay is only one part of our competitive Total Rewards package. Depending on role eligibility, we offer both short and long-term incentives by way of an annual discretionary bonus plan, variable compensation plan, and equity plans.
