Southern Industrial Constructors, Inc. is seeking a Business Development Manager to work out of our Hoschton, GA office. This person will travel throughout GA and surrounding states, building relationships with procurement and engineering groups and advancing our core values of Mission First, People Always.

Job Summary

We perform installation, rigging, millwrighting, and maintenance for manufacturing and industrial markets across the Southeast.

Responsibilities
  • Actively promote and strengthen our core values and culture of Mission First, People Always through everyday actions and decisions.
  • Have direct contact with people of all levels, both internally and externally, and work with customers’ procurement and engineering groups.
  • Respond promptly to customers’ needs and follow through on all aspects of requests, both written and verbal.
  • Collaborate with business unit managers when responding to a request for proposal (RFP) to inform them of market conditions, pricing issues and the current competition on the program.
  • Make presentations to various groups within the customer’s organization when needed.
  • Act as the lead person on preparing the written proposal in response to a customer’s RFP, coordinating all information from different disciplines and arranging the formal response.
  • Attend trade shows and conferences, both educational and customer oriented.
  • Identify potential clients in the target market and conduct research on prospective client’s business and equipment needs.
  • Develop relationships with prospective clients while maintaining existing client relationships.
  • Partner with sales teams to create contract‑winning proposals for current and prospective clients.
  • Collaborate with design and production teams to ensure contracted product specifications are executed on‑time and as agreed.
  • Become a subject matter expert on our business products, processes and operations, and stay up‑to‑date on industry news.
  • Lead initiatives by working through leads provided by the SIC management group.
  • Target “Targets” on a defined basis, weekly, monthly, or quarterly as defined by the SIC management and BD Group.
  • Develop new customer base within the SIC marketplace.
  • Track and maintain accurate records within the approved database of contacts, projects and opportunities.
  • Visit sites and gather data about new projects available for SIC.
  • Continue to visit current client base to ensure SIC holds a strong position on existing work.
  • Travel 40%–75% of the time. Working the Leads, Targets, and Current Customer Base.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience in a related field.
  • Demonstrated achievement in B2B sales.
  • Previous crane sales/business development experience.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including facilitation of group presentations.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, including Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access and industry‑specific analysis software.
  • Basic understanding of the industry, with the ability to become a subject matter expert on the job.
  • Innovation and problem‑solving skills that include the ability to develop and propose equipment‑based solutions for clients.
  • Strong interpersonal communication, attention to detail, organization, and follow‑up skills.
