Job OverviewOversees operational aspects of the department, focusing on the day-to-day management of related initiatives. This role is primarily concerned with the implementation and execution of strategies developed by higher management. Typically leads entry-level and career-level staff within the organization. - Contract Negotiation and Management:
Oversee the timely negotiation, execution, and administration of supplier agreements (NDAs, teaming agreements, master agreements, supplemental agreements), ensuring accurate terms, conditions, and pricing - Strategic Sourcing Leadership:
Develop and implement comprehensive sourcing strategies that align with AT&T’s operational goals and objectives, driving value and optimization across key categories - Performance Monitoring and Compliance:
Track contract activity through regular reporting and 1x1 calls with direct reports, ensuring adherence to budgets, schedules, and performance metrics, including 30-60-90 day contract expiration tracking - Vendor and Supplier Management:
Manage relationships with key vendors and suppliers, negotiating contract modifications and specifications to maintain quality, reliability, and compliance with organizational standards - Improvements and Initiatives:
Lead and support critical initiatives to drive change and continuous improvement in sourcing processes and procedures, fostering a culture of innovation and efficiency
- Expertise in category management, strategic sourcing, and procurement processes
- Proven experience managing large-scale RFx events and complex negotiations
- Strong analytical skills for cost modeling and supplier performance evaluation
- Ability to lead, coach, and develop a team of sourcing professionals
- Experience collaborating with cross-functional partners and executive stakeholders
- Deep understanding of the consumer mobility ecosystem, including handsets, accessories, CPE, and logistics
- Bachelor’s degree in supply chain management, Business, Engineering, or related field;
Master’s degree or relevant certifications (CPSM, CSCP, or equivalent) preferred - 7+ years of experience in strategic sourcing, procurement, or category management, with a focus on consumer technology or telecommunications sectors
- Demonstrated success leading sourcing teams and delivering cost savings, process improvements, and supplier innovation
- Track record of managing high-value sourcing events and building strong supplier partnerships
- Experience working with OEMs, transportation providers, and consumer device supply chains is highly valued
Our Associate Director-Sourcing Operations earns between $143,800 - $215,800 USD annually. Not to mention all the other amazing rewards that working at AT&T offers. Individual starting salary within this range may depend on geography, experience, expertise, and education/training.
