Job Summary / PurposeThe Strategic Feedstock Sourcing Director (SFSD) will be responsible for leading feedstock sourcing development for Nexus’ build‑own and operated plants and potential Nexus’ licensee plants. The SFSD will lead the internal Nexus Feedstock Sourcing Team (FST), external efforts that will grow and develop the feedstock value chain and be ultimately responsible for volume, quality and price of feedstock on a 1‑to‑2‑year business plan execution horizon.
The SFSD will report to the Chief Commercial Officer (CCO) and work closely with the CCO and feedstock sourcing team to secure plastic feedstock that aligns with the Nexus Circular business plan and assist in the 10‑year strategy plan.
Nexus currently has 2 plants (Atlanta and the headquarters for the business is in Atlanta and this is also where the SFSD role will be located.
The position is a key member of the Commercial Leadership Team and will report to Nexus Circular’s CCO with strong cooperation with the Director of Quality (who identifies national strategies/accounts and develops the waste plastic feedstock qualification process).
Responsibilities- Manage the FST’s use of an existing feedstock qualification process (FQP) and assist the Director of Quality in evolving the FQP.
- Lead the Feedstock, Technology and Operations (FTO) Teams in developing new sources of feedstock that require technology or operations alterations before they are qualified feedstock sources.
- Create and implement development plans for assigned national strategies and national accounts. These plans will be comprehensive in nature and include steps for data collection/research, alternatives and options, selection criteria for implementation and ongoing monitoring and maintenance of the strategy and/or account.
- The Feedstock Sourcing Team is responsible for 100% of the waste feedstock plastic procurement for the Atlanta and McDonough sites. The SFSD will be an active member of this leadership team, expected to work collaboratively with the team to ensure volumes, pricing and quality are delivered with business plan expectations.
- Provide industry leadership through conference and key association participation and efforts that further the Nexus Circular leadership brand.
- Assist with the development of key components of a 10‑year strategic plan. The goal of the strategic plan is to align the Nexus organization with trends and sources that can achieve 5-10 billion lbs. of feedstock with the quality and price expectations of the long‑term plan. This will require development of infrastructure and technology to collect, aggregate, sort, store and logistics that align with the long‑term goals.
