Overview
The Licensing Operations Senior Analyst plays a critical support role in the Credit Solutions (CS) business at S&P Global Market Intelligence (SPGMI). The analyst works closely with Product, Commercial, and Legal teams to review and evaluate licensing deal terms and contracts, mitigating losses and protecting S&P’s proprietary data rights. The role involves global client segments including Investment Management, Investment Banking, Insurance, Commercial Banking, Non-Financial Corporates, and Government Agencies.
Responsibilities- Support Commercial and Product teams across the Americas, EMEA, and APAC by providing insights and analysis on client use cases, licensing terms, deal structures, and assisting with negotiations for new and existing CS licensing agreements.
- Draft, review, and negotiate legal contracts to ensure consistency in deal terms and pricing across clients and industries, and evaluate and provide recommendations on non-standard deal terms.
- Provide world‑class customer service to the Product and Commercial teams by maintaining consistently high service quality, proactively anticipating needs, and engaging in continuous improvement.
- Support the Licensing team across key projects, initiatives and internal processes.
- Promote a culture of value‑based business practices and compliance by educating stakeholders on best practices for licensing CS products and services.
- Juris Doctor (J.D.) or experience with commercial contracts (e.g., paralegal).
- 3+ years of relevant experience in the financial services sector as a compliance, legal, or risk management professional.
- Self‑directed, commercial mindset with creative problem‑solving ability.
- Team player with cross‑functional teamwork experience (Product, Commercial, Legal).
- Ability to turn high‑level requirements into executable plans with actionable steps and secure consensus from partners.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Curiosity to learn and adaptability to develop new skill sets.
- Independent work in fast‑paced and ambiguous environments.
- Flexible and adaptable to work across international time zones.
- Preferred:
Excellent computer skills, banking/asset‑management function knowledge, data visualization tools, fluency in foreign languages.
- Base salary range $80,000 – $135,000 (geographic location may vary).
