Position Title

BOOKKEEPER ADMIN

Georgia Aquarium – 225 Baker Street, Atlanta, GA 30313. Online applications accepted only.

Full‑time. Open availability preferred; days and hours may vary. Detailed schedule provided during interview.

$18.00 – $23.00 per hour.

Maintains a complete and systematic set of records of business transactions for the assigned business unit. Handles financial reporting, reconciliations, payroll calculations and prepares tax reports.

• Interact with customers and resolve complaints; relay comments to supervisors.
• Represent the company in a courteous, efficient, friendly manner in all interactions to ensure satisfaction.
• Assist the controller with reports and weekly closing procedures.
• Verify, allocate and post details of business transactions to subsidiary accounts in journals or computer files from documents such as sales slips, invoices, receipts, unit reports, check stubs and printouts.
• Summarize details in separate ledgers or computer files and transfer data to the general ledger; reconcile and balance accounts.
• Compile records to show statistics such as cash receipts and expenditures, accounts payable and receivable, profit and loss, and other items pivotal to the operation.
• Calculate employee wages from time cards and submit payroll registers for payment.
• Prepare tax reports as required.
• Compute and mail monthly statements to customers.
• Complete records to or through trial balances.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Prior bookkeeping experience preferred.

• Use medium‑weight cut gloves when handling knives, peelers, choppers, mandolins or cleaning slicers.
• Use oven mitts, fryer gloves or steamer gloves when handling hot pans from ovens, warmers or steam tables.
• Use slip‑resistant shoes and proper lifting techniques.
