. The Georgia Department of Human Services (DHS), Division of Aging Services (DAS) - Adult Protective Services (APS) is seeking candidates for the position of Administrative Assistant 2.
This position is located in Columbus, Muscogee County, Georgia.

Role and Responsibilities
  • Under general supervision, performs a wide range of office administration duties for assigned functions or program areas; duties may be complex in nature and may involve access to confidential information.
  • Researches, investigates, and/or resolves program data or issues; drafts documentation, reports, or presentations; represents the program or unit and provides information and assistance to internal and external customers.
  • Provides administrative support to the assigned area and assists with program, administrative, and/or technical tasks and interpretation.
  • Researches and resolves detailed program or client issues/questions and prepares documents.
  • Supports routine administrative functions for the agency/office, such as travel expenses, car rentals, leases, vendors, contracts, telecommunications, building security, purchasing, billing/credit, inventory, property control, personnel, payroll, and related duties.
Core Competencies
  • Ability to work independently with limited direction.
  • Ability to take instruction and work cooperatively.
  • Ability to identify tasks needing completion.
  • Interpersonal communication and customer service skills.
  • High school diploma/GED and three (3) years of job-related experience; OR one (1) year of experience at the lower level Admin Assistant 1 (GST
    050) or position equivalent.
Preferred Skills/Qualifications
  • Possession of a valid driver’s license and consistent access to a vehicle for required work-related activities.
  • Excellent customer service and communication skills.
  • Experience with Microsoft Office suite, including Excel, Word, and Outlook.
  • Two years of experience in administrative support or similar duties.
