. The Billing Specialist is responsible for preparing and reconciling client invoices, ensuring timely and accurate billing to meet client and firm standards.
- Edit prebills to adjust time, disbursements, and account transfers.
- Print, sort, and distribute prebills to billing attorneys; produce drafts and final invoices for attorney review.
- Maintain accurate client billing addresses and information.
- Enter billing exemptions and monitor approvals for write‑offs and monthly exemptions.
- Input alternate rates into the billing system accurately and efficiently.
- Generate billing statistics in Excel and provide data to attorneys and support staff.
- Communicate with attorneys to meet billing deadlines.
- Process, track, and resolve invoices through electronic and web‑based billing systems.
- Participate in monthly check‑in meetings with the billing manager to review Work in Progress updates and troubleshoot issues.
- Respond promptly to internal and external client inquiries; gather and provide necessary feedback.
- Clear written and oral communication with professionals and clients on billing issues.
- Outstanding customer and client service skills.
- Professional and positive representation of the department.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Word and Excel.
- Ability to work under pressure and balance competing priorities.
- Production of high‑volume, computerized document edits in a fast‑paced, deadline‑driven environment.
- Independent and collaborative work to promote efficient workflow processes.
- Strong interpersonal skills to partner with diverse groups within the firm and externally.
- Self‑management in hybrid and in‑office settings.
- College degree preferred; equivalent training, education, and experience may apply.
- Minimum of three (3) years of law‑firm billing experience.
- Prior Aderant/CMS experience is strongly preferred.

Compensation: $50,000.00 - $70,000.00 per year. Salary depends on position, location, education, training, and experience.
