Position Summary:
The accounting intern provides crucial administrative and technical support to the finance department, handling tasks like accounts payable/receivable, bank reconciliations, data entry, and month-end closing procedures. They gain hands‑on experience with accounting software (e.g., Great Plains) and GAAP, while assisting with audits, tax preparation, and general financial record maintenance.
Responsibilities:
Perform month‑end close tasks ensuring the appropriate recognition and classification of Georgia Aquarium transactions. Perform audit/review tasks as requested.
Qualifications:
- Currently enrolled accounting major at a 4‑year accredited institution.
- This is an experience‑based, paid internship.
