Compensation: $28‑31/hr

Vaco is actively seeking a Staff Accountant for a growing client in Atlanta. This role is a contract position for 3 months. The Staff Accountant supports the Accounting Department by performing daily accounting activities and assisting with the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements. Reporting to the Accounting Manager, this role focuses on accurately recording financial transactions, completing reconciliations, and ensuring compliance with company policies.

The position requires strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work independently in a fast‑paced environment.

• Support month‑end, quarter‑end, and year‑end close processes.
• Prepare journal entries, account reconciliations, financial reports, and fixed asset schedules.
• Assist in preparing financial statements and supporting documentation.
• Reconcile bank statements and maintain accurate financial records.
• Provide documentation for external audits.
• Ensure adherence to internal policies and identify opportunities for process improvement.

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance (with accounting experience)
• 2‑4 years of accounting experience primarily GL accounting.
• Advanced MS Excel proficiency.
• Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
• High attention to detail and ability to work independently as a self‑starter.
• Must be able to be on‑site/in‑office in Metro Atlanta (Sandy Springs)
