Tax or Assurance Intern within the Assurance Services Team at Element CPA in Cabbagetown, Atlanta.

Summary

We hire interns during peak periods of our year, particularly during the primary tax filing and financial reporting season beginning in January and ending April 15th of each year. Our interns can focus on Tax or Audit, and generally get some exposure to both service lines.

Responsibilities

Build strong working relationships with senior staff and management of the firm, as well as with clients when the opportunity arises

Effectively document work so that others can reperform the work without consultation from the individual completing the work

Identify and communicate client and engagement issues as well as progress in a timely fashion to teammates and supervisors

Demonstrate strong work ethic and an eagerness to learn

Work to accurately complete project components and tasks including, but not limited to, the following:

Preparation of individual and entity tax returns
Preparation of property tax returns
Assist tax and assurance teams with documentation and project support, including filing, organizing and archiving engagement files
Performance of assurance tasks, including substantive audit procedures

Required Experience

No experience is required for the tax and assurance internships at Element, however, candidates should be a Junior or Senior with some completed coursework related to accounting.
