Senior Accountant/Analyst Position Overview

The Novelis Corporate Controllership team is seeking a Senior Accountant. This role has responsibility for month-end close, month-end and quarter-end reporting requirements, intercompany transactions, balance sheet, cash and fixed asset reconciliations. This position will work with several tools, including many applications within SAP and One Stream.

• Supports the monthly close process, including journal entries and general ledger review
• Performs a variety of general to complex accounting functions in support of departmental duties
• Reconciles, researches and resolves discrepancies with minimal assistance from manager, corrections, documents and verifies related accounts. Prepares journal entries. Monitors deadlines and due dates.
• Prepares monthly account reconciliations via One Stream tool
• Work with other departments during month end to record the accruals for the close
• Sending the cross charges and Inter Company invoices timely to the regions
• Monitoring the Inter Company receivable and payable and ensuring timely settlement of outstanding balances.
• Suggests process improvements and system enhancements that will increase efficiency and/or mitigate risk for the organization
• Work on special projects and analysis as needed, including assistance with any ad hoc reporting requests

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting or Finance
• CPA or CPA candidate
• 5 years of G/L accounting experience
• Exposure to and knowledge of US GAAP
• Motivated and driven; self-starter

• Experience with SAP Financials
• Experience with Oracle Financials
• Experience with Hyperion
• Experience with international operations and foreign exchange
• Proficiency with MS Office suite
• Large, multi-national company experience

• OT - Only as needed, with the expectation that it normally occurs during close (WD1 ? WD4);
  Just FYI and the timing here, accounting is normally required to work July 4th.
• Preferred Credentials: CPA but not required.
• Degree Required? Yes, BA/BS Accounting / Finance, but accounting preferred.
• SAP Experience, Fixed Assets from AUC/CWIP to placing assets in-service.
• Experience of Cash / Bank reconciliations, including working with AP to resolve outstanding issueo.
• Experience with EBS (Electronic Bank Statements) ? automatic AP clearing(s).
• Large volume of prepaids ? familiarity with terms / concept of prepaids.
• Experience with Inter-Company would be a great plus.
• On a regular basis this person will have to work/communicate ?autonomously? with cost center owners (project mgr/director level), AP and cash team (Capgemini).
